Senior Tax Manager - (Chevy Chase, MD) 
 
The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day income tax reporting and compliance functions. The Senior Tax Manager must effectively interact with all levels of management and experienced advisors, both within and outside the corporation, who come from a variety of different managerial disciplines and backgrounds. This position reports to the Senior VP, Tax and supports senior tax management in tax planning and strategy functions. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:     
  • Plan and manage the quarterly and annual ASC 740 financial reporting, including FIN 48, and SOX compliance
  • Analyze quarterly tax provision results and communicate such to senior management in a clear and effective manner
  • Plan and manage the preparation and review of all federal and state tax returns of the company, including estimated tax payments and extensions
  • Manage federal and state tax examinations
  • Assist in documenting and communicating corporate tax policy and procedures
  • Participate in special projects, merger and acquisition transactions, and tax planning
  • Model and forecast tax results, and communicate findings to senior management
  • Develop corporate and operating group relationships to include tax planning, training programs and problem resolution
  • Supervise a tax team of five 
 REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Accounting required and Masters in Taxation preferred
  • CPA 
  • Ten plus years of combined experience with “Big 4” and corporate tax department, including at least four years of supervisory experience
  • Financial services experience
  • Strong working experience in ASC 740
  • Proficient in tax provision and tax compliance software (such as OneSource)
  • Strong tax research and analytical skills
  • Ability to convey tax concepts and project results in a clear and effective manner
  • Excellent written, verbal, project management, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential
