Mechanical Hardware Technician

  • As a member of the engineering team you will be responsible for creating the firmware and development of software for our RF Thruster.
  • You will work closely with our Flight Systems, Software and Electrical engineers. Your work will be critical in contributing to our success, from design to production.
  • You will make critical firmware decisions and contributions that will determine our mission success in space.
  •  We are continuing to grow and add new missions so we're humbly searching for a few more expert men and women to join in our success.
Summary:
  • Machining and prototype production for our electric propulsion RF Thruster and related systems.
  • Lead our onsite machine shop practices with your technician expertise and provide critical support to development of spaceflight hardware.
  • Engage with a fast-moving and multi-disciplinary engineering team where your contributions will be valued and critical to the success of our missions.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of demonstrable machining and prototyping experience
  • Intermediate skills with mills, lathes, CNC, CAD, drafting, additive manufacturing
  • Advanced communication skills for reading and understanding technical mechanical drawings
  • Experienced in designing and managing machine shop tool & workbench organization, proper use of PPE, Illness and Injury Prevention practices, and Hazardous materials handling.
Desired Experience:
  • More than 1 year of relevant machining and prototyping experience including small satellite hardware development
  • Bachelor’s Degree or some undergraduate studies related to the fields of: engineering, mechanical technician, manufacturing production.
  • Previous work in a prototyping or manufacturing environment working on a wide range of projects
