Job Description 
The company engaged in the discovery and development of regenerative therapies containing exosomes for treating patients suffering from inflammatory and degenerative neuro-vascular diseases.  This position provides a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the development of a novel first-in-class regenerative therapy. 
 
The position requires a self-motivated Associate Scientist to work with a cross functional team to support analytical and process development efforts.  The research associate will participate in the lab and assist in developing and qualifying new test methods as well as supporting in the design of process improvements,  There is a significant opportunity to join the founding team, earn equity, and enter a promising start-up on the ground-level. 
 
 
Specific Job Duties:
Major duties include but are not limited to:
  • Work with a cross-functional team to design, execute and document analytical method development in support of process development, product release and stability, and product characterization of biologic containing exosomes 
  • Executing small scale protein production and  biochemical analysis (i.e chromatography, FPLC, Western Blot, ELISAs,)
  • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures, analytical test methods, and new analytical technologies involving biochemical, cell-based assays, and  flow cytometry. 
  • Execute routine testing for analytical qualification from established test methods and SOPs 
  • Execute method qualification and participate in transfer to external partners 
  • Performing and analyzing small scale bioreactor cell culture processes
  • Writing technical reports, protocols, and SOPs based on independent research and scientific literature.
  • Assisting with data trending and analysis
  • Maintaining accurate laboratory notebook and relevant documentation
 
Job Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in cell and molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or a related field strongly preferred, however overall experience and proven track record of ingenuity in lieu is also valued. 
  • Extensive industry experience in basic methods of biochemistry, cell culture, cell based assays
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective at working on several projects at once and adapt to changing project directions
  • Strong ability to manage work independently and serve as a team leader
