Job Description:
Individual will be responsible for generating the monthly journal entries for payroll, deferred compensation, and benefits.  Responsible for bank and general balance sheet reconciliations.  Also providing in-depth payroll related data analysis, generating reports, related to both domestic and international offices. Reporting directly to the Manager of Payroll, the individual will work directly on general accounting, and also analyze compensation, payroll related data and create reports based on request.  Must have in depth Microsoft Excel knowledge.
  • Create journal entries and perform monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting (using CODA as the Financial Reporting System.)
  • Bank Account Monthly Reconciliations
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Perform in-depth analyses of compensation and benefits related data including:  variance analysis, cost benefit analysis, headcount analysis, capitalization analysis, reconciliations of actual vs. projections, etc. and other compensation related areas.  Sample list of payroll related areas requiring report analysis:
              - Company Departmental Salary Analysis and Employee Lists (Internal)
              - ESPP (Employee Stock Purchase Plan)
              - Stock Options
                - Restricted Stock Shares / Units
               -401(k) and Pension Funding
              -Assist with various Deferred Compensation Plans (Stock and Cash based plans)
              -Other Fringe Benefits (U.S. & Non-U.S.)
              - Intercompany Reconciliations
              - Preparing the monthly benefit expense billing (Journal Entry) for all benefit related items.
  • Work closely with Payroll Administrators to create, modify, and provide analysis, synthesize findings and create reports  of payroll and compensation related for payroll processing
  • Create and maintain various Excel spreadsheets related to the budgeting process, variance analysis, etc.
  • Perform payroll related items as needed (Data Entry, Reporting)
  • Work with the Financial Reporting Group as well as query the accounting system (CODA) to research questions about general ledger activity as relates to compensation, synthesize findings and create accurate relevant reports, etc.
  • Conduct additional analysis of bank reconciliations, global accruals and pre-paids specific to payroll synthesize own and other findings and create excel-based reports specific to analyses.  
  • Proven analytical capabilities within corporate finance or related functionality.
  • Knowledge of CODA Financial Reporting System (a plus not a requirement)
  • Working knowledge of financial reporting specific accounting activities and disciplines (e.g., accruals, pre-paids, general ledger entries, etc.)
  • Superior knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office software.  Candidate will be required to take an Excel test covering their knowledge on “VLOOKUP”, “SUMIF”, and “PIVOT TABLES”  as well as other advanced functions.  CODA Journal Entries are prepared in excel.
  • Knowledge in creating reports through system reporting tools (i.e. BI)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast pace and be able to multi-task.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
Academic Qualifications & Other Requirements (minimum):
Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance or Economics. 2-5 yrs. experience in an analyst or accounting role.
