Required Experience:
Our client is seeking a Citrix Engineer III who will be supporting a multi-tiered high-availability Citrix infrastructure that is geographically distributed with a highly mobile workforce.
 
  • The candidate will be involved in managing and implementing, in varying capacities, a range of virtualization products including but not limited to Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, XenServer, Provisioning Services, EdgeSight, NetScalers, vSphere, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Microsoft Terminal Services, VMWare vSphere and various related tools in order to support and maintain a virtual desktop and application delivery infrastructure.
  • Provide tier 1 & 2 support staff with the tools necessary to support the virtual desktop environment.
  • Document processes and procedures, instructions for users and IT personnel.
  • Adhere to strict IT security policies and processes including change management/Change Control for industry standards compliancy.
  • Establish and maintain business relationships with external vendors, TAMS (Citrix, Microsoft, McAffee).
  • 8 years of related support experience is required.
  • 6 years designing, supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering a Citrix infrastructure, including XenApp 4.x, Citrix Web Interface 5.x and EdgeSight.
Skills Required
  • Must have Citrix experience on recent versions of Presentation Server/XenApp
  • Should also be aware of industry standards, up and coming available technologies and system best practices
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate in fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple priorities
  • Must be able to understand and resolve network system issues.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Experience with Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, WanScaler, NetScaler preferred
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Citrix XenServer and/or VMWare ESX is a plus
  • Experience with Desktop VDI Environments such as Citrix XenDesktop 3.x is a plus
  • Experience with Altiris Rapid Deployment Solution and/or Microsoft SCCM is a plus
  • Advanced Citrix troubleshooting techniques
  • Good customer and communications skills
  • Experience with AppSense is a plus
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, IIS and Project Management skills is a plus  
Education/Training/Certifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Experience
  • Citrix Certifications
  • Technical certification is a plus (MCSE - Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and/or CCA Citrix Certified Administrator or CCEA Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator).
