Corporate Controller
Full Time Position

Responsible for all aspects of accounting for the Company’s corporate operations and entities, treasury, joint venture accounting and consolidated financial statements. Oversee integration process for new properties, accounting personnel, and corporate level reporting. Job responsibilities include management of direct reports, review and approval of corporate level financial statements, assisting with budget preparation, and special projects. Ensure accurate reporting of revenue, expenses and balance sheet, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Responsible for the oversight, review and approval of corporate level accounting functions and financial reporting.
  • Responsible for corporate level accounting allocations Including but not limited to insurance, administration costs, capitalized interest.
  • Responsible for consolidated financial statements which includes the elimination of intercompany transactions.
  • Responsible for joint venture accounting for various non-property operating entities.
  • Responsible for coordination of joint-venture reporting with equivalent financial reporting and operational groups
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the direct reports which includes: review of journal entries, accounting functions.
  • Responsible for the all treasury processes including the management of the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
  • Review and approval of monthly and quarterly reporting packages.
  • Manages monthly and quarterly general ledger account reconciliation process and open items posting.
  • Review monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliation and variance analysis.
  • Assists finance and operations with budgeting/forecasting operating results. 
  • Provide leadership and direction to direct reports when process improvements are implemented.
  • Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
  • Assists with special projects related to quarterly close reporting process, Sarbanes Oxley, annual audit and lender requirements.
  • Provide training on internal policies and procedures, MRI, Nexus, FAS and Excel.
  • Facilitate, coordinate and / or generate MRI reports. 
  • Assist in the operational/accounting integration of new properties.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Requires a wide range of constant physical activities, including but not limited to: standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Frequent repetitive movements.
  • Requires close, distance, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of property management, commercial real estate or related industry.
  • Experience in researching and documenting technical accounting issues.
  • Must have strong management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and demonstrated working knowledge of computers and software including MS Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; understanding of MRI preferred.
  • Extremely flexible, proactive, highly organized, and ability to shift priorities, multi-task, and handle heavy work flow processing under time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Superior analytical skills, logical in problem solving and focused on continuous improvement with high attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities while staying focused and meeting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to interact well with all levels within the Company.
  • Polished professional demeanor with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
