Only Candidates with Personal Injury Litigation experience will be considered.
Calendaring experience is highly preferred.


Required Qualifications:
 
  • Minimum 3 years Litigation Assistant/Legal Secretary experience to include both federal and California court filing experience.
  • A.A. or Certificate in Litigation Assistant/Legal Secretary
  • Certified Legal Professional (CLP) or Professional Legal Secretary (PLS), preferred
    •  Must have complex document production experience as well as effective administrative experience.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with others in a professional and objective manner, in both oral and written form.
    • Must be able to effectively respond to co-workers, management, clients, and vendors and provide feedback in a timely manner.
    • Must be proactive and assertive with effective decision-making skills and abilities.
    • Must be highly organized and able to successfully multi-task utilizing effective time management skills.
    • Must be dependable and able to work scheduled shift on time.
    • Must have a strong sense of urgency to respond to inquiries timely and professionally.
    • Must possess effective and active listening abilities.
    • Is comfortable with change.
    • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
    • Must have high attention to detail along with a high level of accuracy.
    • Must be able to behave professionally at all times while exercising very high levels of confidentiality and discretion.
 
Responsibilities
  • Generates, prepares, and organizes legal documents, summons, complaints, and pleadings; oversees and coordinates court filings, including e-filing, with state court and federal court.
  • Performs calendaring.
  • Schedules and coordinates court call appearances, depositions, mediations, court reporters, and/or interpreters.
  • Prepares and serves notices of depositions and deposition subpoenas.
  • Prepare letters to clients advising of depositions, DME’s, trial mediations, physician appointments, etc.
  • Send deposition transcripts to clients for review/revisions.
  • Schedule observer for IME’s.
  • Prepare standard objective(s) to IME and deposition notices.
  • Prepare CMC statements for attorney review.
  • Requests payments for witnesses, filing fees, etc.
  • Communicates and coordinates with court clerk; makes on-line reservations to schedule motions, ex-parte applications, stipulations, continuances, etc.
  • Makes attorney travel arrangements.
